Delivery function
The delivery function in the OIDO online shop offers enormous added value for both customers and providers: it offers individual time planning with maximum transparency and reliability. For operations, the function means a significant reduction in workload, a better overview, fewer errors and the opportunity to reach new customer groups through optimised service offerings – a huge relief.
Initial situation
Catering businesses and retailers are increasingly faced with the challenge of offering their customers convenient ordering and delivery options. Manually accepting and coordinating orders and recording delivery data is error-prone, time-consuming and often leads to misunderstandings in operational processes. In addition, businesses need to be able to efficiently manage demand during peak times and optimise the utilisation of their logistical capacities. Without intelligent system support, efficient planning of delivery times and delivery areas is virtually impossible – which can lead to long waiting times and customer dissatisfaction.
Objective
Increase customer satisfaction through flexible and transparent options for planning orders in terms of time and location.
Efficient resource planning in operations through controlled allocation of pick-up and delivery time slots.
Minimisation of errors and communication problems through automatic, digital recording of all relevant order data.
Increased reach through definable delivery areas.
Reduced workload for employees through automated coordination.
Solution through functionality
The OIDO online shop offers an integrated pick-up and delivery function with the following features:
Defineable time slots for delivery: Businesses specify in the system the times and time slots during which orders can be delivered. Capacity limits per slot are also possible.
Delivery areas: Delivery address areas (postcodes) can be defined within which delivery is offered.
Independent slot booking by the customer: During the ordering process, the customer selects the available delivery time slots directly.
Automated retrieval and storage of delivery data: During the ordering process, necessary delivery information (e.g. address, name, telephone number) is automatically requested, structured and stored in the ordering system.
Capacity monitoring: The system automatically monitors slot utilisation and prevents overbookings.
Clear communication: The customer receives an overview of the booked time slot and, if applicable, the delivery status.
Automatic calculation of delivery costs: Define the conditions per delivery zone based on the postcode and product weight. The OIDO online shop adds up the weight of the ordered products and calculates the delivery price based on this and the postcode.

Application examples
Bicycle courier
A bicycle courier can deliver to four customers per 15-minute time slot within your postcode area at lunchtime. OIDO only offers your customers the available time slots to choose from.
Shipping service provider
You offer delivery by post to the rest of the city or the entire country. OIDO informs customers of the estimated delivery time, records the shipping data and calculates the transport costs.
Delivery on delivery note
In addition to private customers, you also supply some business customers on account. OIDO takes the order and generates a PDF of the delivery note.
