Checkout function
OIDO's flexible checkout function allows you to offer the appropriate payment method depending on the type of sale (e.g. delivery or takeaway) or the sales area. This ensures greater customer satisfaction, secure processes and a higher conversion rate in the online shop.
Initial situation
For some types of sales (such as delivery), advance payment makes sense, while for others (such as takeaway), customers may prefer to pay when they pick up their order. A lack of choice can lead to abandoned purchases or require additional coordination.
Objective
- Increase flexibility in the payment process for different types of sales (e.g. delivery, takeaway, on-site consumption).
- Enable customer-oriented decisions at checkout: immediate payment vs. payment on collection.

- Adaptation to the needs and processes of the business (e.g. ensuring advance payment on delivery to guarantee payment).
- Improve customer satisfaction and conversion rates.
Solution through functionality
OIDO allows you to link the payment option to the type of sale at checkout and offer the customer a choice.
In the online shop, the ‘prepayment’ option (i.e. direct payment when ordering) is mandatory for orders placed via the delivery service in order to avoid payment defaults.
For takeaway, on the other hand, the customer can choose at checkout whether they want to pay conveniently on their mobile phone or pay when they pick up their order in the shop/restaurant.
The shop configuration allows you to specify which payment options are offered for each type of sale or area. The customer is guided accordingly at checkout and can select their preferred payment method, if permitted.
Setting up payment methods for each sales zone:
Results & effects
Increased customer satisfaction: Customers can select their preferred payment method to suit their situation, which leads to greater convenience and trust.
Fewer abandoned purchases: A flexible checkout design reduces barriers and motivates customers to complete their orders.
Securing your business: Required prepayment for delivery ensures that payment is received and prevents payment defaults.
Optimised process: Different processes can be better mapped (e.g. cashless advance payment on delivery, cash payment or card payment on collection).
More revenue and repeat business potential: The clear focus on the needs of customers and the business increases the overall conversion rate and the attractiveness of the offering.
